Unable to change band name and song names

Hey, I'm using this game with the latest patch on Windows 7.
Pretty much, when you make a character and you can enter the Player name and Band name, it won't let me type anything in. All I can do is randomize both fields, and select ok. The same happens when making a song and trying to change the song title.
Is there any fix for this?
