Has anyone watched House Of cards?

It's an old BBC TV series:

I'm watching the boxed set right now and it's hilarious, because it almost exactly mirrors the shenanigans going on in the UK labour party right now. It's quite a cynical take on the whole 'spin doctor' idea, before the term even entered common usage.
I also recommend the thick of it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thick_of_It and Yes Minister (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_Minister

I watched it when it first came out on TV in the early nineties. The character beautifully played by Ian Richardson who I understand recently passed away, is one evil person.

A good series that exposes the type of characters that are attracted to politics, like the power freaks.

A good movie with a similar topic is the player starring Tim Robbins as the hollywood studio executive, its characters like that who are attracted to political careers.
