We have chosen to go with option D. Changing how average armor is calculated. Before, it depended a lot on how many modules you had installed on your hull. The problem was that ships that were left with a lot of dead space got more armor. Now we've changed so that it's based on how many module slots...

This just passed through my mind: Assuming stations , outposts and satellites are implemented (or modded) for survival scenarios or hypothetical "attacker vs defender" online challenges, they could equip "side-thrusters" to rotate. The keep moving order would then be interpreted...

It already looks fantastic compared to gsb1. however, i would add more smoking or burning debris particles that fly out the sides, like the ones on the old cruiser explosions, but smaller and faster. being able to pin some windows to the screen and move it around seems like it would be useful features. makes it easier to track the status of multiple important ships in larger battles. showing the destination and target in that window would help a lot too. on the graphical side of the gui, i like ...

It also means a more interesting choice of hull. Fighter hull A has 10% speed boost, BUT it has only 90 degree forward firing lasers...oh the agony of decision. Suddenly fighters are less multi-role, and you need that combination of ships for specific tasks. Also, I have to admit I see it as a modd...

if it's linked to the slot, perhaps you could also link some sort of boost to the slot? for instance, you can put a deathray in a 360 turret slot, or a directed one, but the directed slot has an X% more damage output?

Thruster-packs yes please. maybe also a "thrustboost" thing to add to hull designs? Carriers i love the idea. though i think gunships would be large enough to come with their own FTL capability. Fuel another great idea. perhaps add more explosive-ness to fighters as they blow up depending...

i remember back when you asked for artists, you mentioned you wanted planets as a seperate thing. is the planet drawn seperately to the background here? or is it part of the backdrop image, as in GSB1?

I imagine the glowing radar dish-thingy at the front-ish part of the ship is rotating. Perhaps one of the "buff" modules that has been theorized around?
The screaming red colourscheme is not my cup of tea, but thats just personal preference. Ship still looks nice.
