A weird Bug

Not sure which exact forum but this weird occurrence has been happening to me. I have been able to recreate a strange occurrence and was wondering if anyone else would be able to or explain why it is occurring. During a long thread battle back to back on private challenges I found myself against a S...

Re: Beta 1.15 Change Display Mode

I had a similar problem - trying to get it to window mode. I am note sure what I did but I just repeatedly attempted to do it and it finally did it. Was much harder to do that it should be. Eventually a few tries later it did work.

Getting it down to 1600 by 900.

Re: GSB2 Gameplay and Balance discussion thread

Don't know if anyone still remember me, but here's the problem GSB1 had I do I think we had fun on some of the SAC and NEC challenges. I agree with some of your points - I am not sure if armour will be fixed. Somehow I hate how armour ablates, but from what I have seen of the mechanics that will oc...

Re: I know it took a while but...

Berny Now lets just make those missiles nuclear.... That's wonderfully vicious, but surely we can do even better than that payload in the sequel game. ;) [-innocently whistling-] Micro Black-Hole Generators? Wasn't there a sci-fi series that used black-hole's as weapons? A David Weber series? Oooh ...

Re: I know it took a while but...

Missile modules can now have up to ten missiles in flight simultaneously, compared with the single missile in GSB1 Remember the outcast frigate missile - the two stage one? Now imagine each missile launched very slowly - and when 10 missiles are in slow flight, they now ignite the second stage........

Re: An update on Damage mechanics, thrusters and bonuses

I think it is doable though, and allows you to favor a single alpha-strike mentality for a single ship, which possibly overwhelms enemy repairs. The other question of course, is whether this only appliers to weapons with the same target. Maybe it should? yes. sort of it is possible that a ship will...

Re: An update on Damage mechanics, thrusters and bonuses

this is a dilemma that i'm sure has gone through many a navy captain's mind. here is the thing though, ships that broadside do not chase faster ships they slug it out with ships of equal size. I am fairly sure from what I've gleamed from reading former posts and game play firing arcs will not be so...

Re: New developer blog video...

. TBH I'm not happy with the current implementation, its a bit too unpredictable, so I'm considering having them fly to a set position, then cut engines until everyone is in their 'slot'. It's deliberate that they go slower as they assemble, I think thats fair, the equivalent of being vulnerable to...

Re: GSB2 Suggestion: Custom Battles

but we can already do this As pointed out above not easily and not readily. We are limited to posting and retaliating challenges to ourselves. I think he wants the ability to build both fleets simultaneously on the screen and then battle it out without having to worry about challenges, lists, and r...

Re: Feature Asymmetry and Player Immersion

That's the entire point, Benny---to throw the traditional notion of game balance to the wind, and I'll use Tribe and Outcast as examples of this. As I stated above (I think) as much as I would like races to have extreme differences - the game design does not allow it. The game pits 2 fleets facing ...

Re: Feature Asymmetry and Player Immersion

I would worry too much about the appearance of one race or another suddenly becoming OP'ed. Or underpowered. When Tribe came out many people threw down the gauntlet and "OMG TRIBE IS OP". Certain race specific weapons/systems were officially Nerfed - one to uselessness and one to sub-par u...

Re: The official GSB 2.0 gameplay discussion thread

, but cruisers always seemed too slow to be effective against fighters, nor fast enough to make up for their lack of shielding/armor vs frigates. Maybe that was fixed later on with some re-balancing/ no offense yalda, but most of what you describe to me there sounds like bad ship design I think Yal...
