Re: Communication Improvement [MOD][+500 messages]

I updated this to be compatible with the latest version of GSB. Previously using this mod would cause crashes whenever you retreated or issued a direct order. This is because, having been made previous to the implementation of those features, this mod would overwrite even the vanilla comm lines for ...

Re: Help me decide on future development priorities...

Honestly the biggest priority beyond balance is something akin to Galactic Conquest. I've held off on GSB2 precisely because it didn't have an analogous Campaign mode to GSB1. While the new content looks great, the only thing I played in GSB1 was Galactic Conquest - the challenges and the scenarios ...

Re: The official GSB 2.0 gameplay discussion thread

This isn't gameplay but I can't believe I forgot to ask. Will there be a borderless windows option for GSB 2? It's super convenient to run the game at fullscreen and be able to tab away to answer a message or something, and would definitely be an awesome addition.

Re: Direct Control Crash

Holy crap, I think that actually worked! I've been playing GSB for literally years, this is the first time I can use direct orders and retreats! Sweet! E: And I figured out the problem looks like. Apparently the More Comms mod badly breaks the game. I'll keep testing to see if any of the other commo...

Re: Direct Control Crash

After looking at that, the only suggestion I have is a rebuild of the C:\Users\Sara\Documents/My Games/GratuitousSpaceBattles/ Directory. As a reminder, rename C:\Users\Sara\Documents/My Games/GratuitousSpaceBattles/ to something like C:\Users\Sara\Documents/My Games/GratuitousSpaceBattles old / Ru...

Re: Direct Control Crash

I take it the game runs fine if you do not have direct control turned on ? Generally yes, but retreating in campaign also causes a crash. This has been a somewhat perennial problem for me, whether I bought the game directly from positech or from steam. My debug.txt file seems to mention it. I remov...

Re: Direct Control Crash

G'Day Vazeron1 At this point I do not have much in the way of solutions and only the standard suggestions: - Verify the installation since its in steam - Head to the debug folder and see if there are any files - As a suggestion, remove the debug folders, run the game again, make it crash and then l...

Re: The official GSB 2.0 gameplay discussion thread

Quick question - Will GSB 2.0 include a campaign?

Direct Control Crash

Just bought and installed the steam version of GSB, and every time I try and use direct control the game crashes the second I give an order. I can see the green line, for instance, of where I'm telling the ship to go but it instantly pops up a "Gratuitous Space Battles" has crashed message...

Re: HOW TO GET A NEW DOWNLOAD LINK

Hello, Vazeron1! It's good to see you again. :D Considering your situation, I'm truly unsure if emailing Cliff at that address is the best means to effect the change you're hoping for. I have no clue how much latitude Positech's relationship with Steam has. You'll just have to wait and see what his...

Re: HOW TO GET A NEW DOWNLOAD LINK

I realize I haven't posted on these forums in years and I'm bumping a 3 year old topic... I apologize for that. I just sent an email to the above address wondering whether or not it'd be possible to convert orders purchased directly from Positech and BMT Micro to steam keys. I'm not sure if it is or...

Re: Where do you stand politically?

His votes in Congress? Forgive me if I'm not too keen on having private mercenaries fighting our wars for us or defaulting on our debts. More than that though,he's incredibly inconsistent. Here are just a few examples of Rep. Paul's inconsistent views and actions: ⋅ He oppose environmental...

Re: Where do you stand politically?

Aha, a bunch of Ron's federalism and free-speech stances twisted into "racism". Basically, because he will let others say unpopular things or would leave many decisions to states, he is branded racist and "authoritarian". How Orwellian. Paul is definitely an enemy of progressive...

Re: Where do you stand politically?

Ron Paul isn't a libertarian by any stretch of the imagination. Can you elaborate on that incredible comment? I've had this post ready on other political forums. It's tempting to take all the information and post it in one gigantic post but it'd a) go over the character limit, and b) take way too l...

Re: Where do you stand politically?

Based on my understanding of the axes, I belong about halfway between the center of the purple quadrant and the vertical axis. However, I think the placement of the famous names in the OP is seriously flawed. How does Ralph Nader's crusade against business leave him in the libertarian half of the m...
