Item Suggestion: Romantic VA Pass

I found the variety of romantic activities in the game to be quite unsatisfying! The brevity of it currently has the weird effect that every long-term couple ends up with the same short list of interests. Fitness Lifestyle in particular seems to show up every time without fail. Is this part of the g...

High foreign relations will also prevent terrorism events and the cyberwarfare situation.

Re: Missing Connections

Why does having a strong work safety law have a negative impact on self employed popularity? I could see a negative impact on the wealthy, who are them employers who might see this as getting in the way of productivity. Many of the self-employed are small business owners with one or two employees, ...

Re: Market meltdown event is out of control

Part of the trigger requirement for the Market Meltdown effect is whether the game thinks that you are "winning" or not. If you're doing really well, the global economy will tank.

Re: Dying

I played at zero difficulty, 100% Apathy, 0% Socialism, 0% Liberalism, and was assassinated by the Black power Group half way through my term despite a) enacting every policy I could to make them happy while b) beefing up as much security as I could to ward off the possibility of an assassination. ...

Re: Some new VERY IMPORTANT modding features :D

Putting five overrides into the same .ini causes the fifth override to fail. It doesn't crash like a misformatted override does, it just doesn't function. Sticking that override into another .ini makes it work. In any case, if there's an extra linebreak between overrides in one file, it will stop pr...

Re: Dying

I'm playing the USA. I've dropped the difficulty level by 25% each game. I was assassinated after 10 turns at difficult level 25 despite balancing the budget, creating a surplus, and growing the country to a AAA credit rating. :( Why does the developer make assassination a game concept?? I think it...

I'm watching development of this. I downloaded it and tried to use it, but I don't feel I can do anything very interesting without simulation and situation modding.

Re: GDP issues/questions

I've never been able to have sky-high GDP without huge immigration, even when I try to tamp down immigration by every means available. I wonder how you pulled that off. Does GDP really increase unemployment? I've always had minimal unemployment whenever my GDP in the game was sky-high. I haven't fig...

Re: Dying

Ministers generally lose loyalty over time as you keep them on. This is just a thing that happens. The job kind of sucks, and politicians aren't drawn from the most trustworthy parts of the population to begin with. Don't fire them, but don't let them resign. Reshuffle your entire cabinet when you n...

Tobacco taxes, carbon taxes, crime, and violent crime all impact the everyone group. These are all reductions, though. I don't know of anything that makes Everyone like you more.

Re: Major game bug

They also don't impact the opinion of the self-employed (who ought to hate them). They're like subsidies for the competition; none of a country's self-employed individuals are going to be able to take advantage. Foreign investor tax breaks are stereotypically set up by impoverished socialist countri...

Re: Internet Crime

Internet taxes also reduce internet crime... somehow. I guess by driving off legitimate users, leaving a smaller pool for the wannabe "sharks" who use the internet for criminal activities. This game needs a "darknet" situation that can arise if the internet is overregulated or ov...

Re: American Finances

I just managed to pull this off and get re-elected twice at 150%. Fixing the skills shortage seems to be a top priority, so the first thing you should do is set up Adult Education Subsidies with ample funding. Then bring up University Grants at a moderate/low level. Spending money to make money is e...
