Re: Galaxy Generator for conquest games

I still play it a few times a year. Usually design my own campaign, make a bunch of new ships, and have at it.

I often run it whilst I'm reading Space Opera... :)

Re: Anyone up for a Gratuitous Space Battles Modding Cult?

Though I've never posted any of my personal (very satisfying to me) mods, I might consider something like this.

After all, I've found that I don't really care for GSB2 -- and that I continue to play and tinker with GSB1.

YMMV.

Re: Challenge Server Problems/Down?

Thanks, Darkstar.

If anyone has the IP address of the challenge server, I can try to ping it from here to determine if my ISP is the problem.

Thanks.

Challenge Server Problems/Down?

I've not been able to download and/or fight any challenges today -- as well as not being able to play my campaign. Below is a copy of an error message I finally got during my campaign after a fair amount of time: Failed to upload fleet as challenge:...\src\SIM_FleetUploader.cpp 125 Just thought I'd ...

Re: DLC Bundle, but still asked for Nomad?

Anyway, I've just bought Nomad and Parasites to make my GSB complete. Awesome game! Thanks Cliff. P.S. Your experiment with the Nomad discount vs regular price is very nice for students. I bought the regular price because I'm old :) You're not old, you're "well-preserved" like me! Yeah, t...

Re: Indie Bundle

I should humbly point out that I've been selling from this site since before The Humble Bundle Impulse GamersGate Direct2Drive GoodOldGames Desura Steam Were ever invented. Granted, that means it's pathetic that I'm not rich yet :D, but it also means I'm not going anywhere, if thats a concern. Mean...

Re: Galactic Conquest Fleet Auto-Uploading

GSB has a lot of potential to be a gratuitously addicted game. It surely does...and it's an addiction that I can afford to love! And I'm getting endless amounts of enjoyment just playing around with modding things to ridiculous ends -- and maybe one day I'll put something together that is good enou...

Re: I'm back! And it's my birthday ^^

I'll worry about the wife later (she would definitely wonder why a 40 y.o. married man plays game :)) Well, to me playing games that I like (it's the one and only, GSB, currently) is a way to refresh myself from all those stress in the office. tiger74 Happy Birthday, old chap! My wife has wondered ...

Okay, here's a quickie that I thought deserved sharing. I give you: The Depleted Crew Cannon http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd276/AcePalarum/GSB/CrewCannonTest.jpg This is a module for my ridiculous and often overpowered Cheaters mod. Here's the description: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...

Re: Recon at Andromeda

GATC: Panthers, 1 engine, max. ultra heavy armor as possible, max damage weapons, heavy fighter cover (all one-off designs). I actually started the scenario, and had to leave for a couple of hours -- I didn't watch it play out, so I can't really speculate on how they managed to do so well -- I didn'...

Re: annyoing/impossible challenges

Well, one could always mod a hull file to give a COSTBOOST -99% to offset some persons low, low budget -- just to tick them off. As for the 0 range -- I don't know, offset it with ARMOURBOOST and SHIELDBOOST set to something like +10,000%, change a couple of weapons mods to zero range, and just sit ...

That's strange. Worked fine for me when I tried the link just now. Can anyone else verify this? I tried the link just now, and got the: "This file has been identified as a copyright protected work and cannot be distributed using MediaFire." So, I guess that would be verification of the pr...
