Nope, this occurred where the enemy had no decoy projectors. It could be I'm just running into the same thing that other people are noticing in the bug thread that yurch linked in the post just before yours.

Okay, I sent the challenge to cliffski, but I'm assuming it won't have the enemy ships either, so I don't know how it will work. Sometimes a few of the pulse cannons will be firing, but it's never all of them. It's happened with multiple ship designs, too, so this fleet is just one example.

Alright, I'm going to say this is some kind of bug. I ran another challenge which I lost two or three times because my ships got into pulse cannon range and either didn't fire at all or fired one salvo and stopped. Meanwhile the enemy fleet's pulls cannons worked perfectly.

Crash/bug fixes: I can get the game to crash, it does frequently. It just doesn't do it consistently so I can never figure out what I did that crashed it. One thing that DOES crash the game 100% of the time is the auto-update function. It'll get to about 5%, freeze, force me to eventually force-quit...

I ran the challenge multiple times with multiple hulls, as well as quitting and restarting the program. None of this worked. So far it's only been that particular challenge that's been a problem.

Is it? I only tried one challenge against it, I'll have to double-check. I could've sworn it was Yootani. If it IS Kraugerisk I have no idea how the strike craft are made as effective as they are.

Just to add one last thought re: strike craft balance, I actually think ALL races should be able to achieve Yootani fighter and gunship performance as a baseline. The unbalanced nature of strike craft exists because all other races' UNDERperform to the point of uselessness. Incidentally, so do Yoota...

Building on that... can we please type numbers in directly, rather than relying solely only on a slider? I've never understood why software programs in general, not just games, will implement sliders that cover numbers that go into the hundreds or thousands but have no way to type a number in manual...

I don't see it as that big of a deal honestly. I fought that selfsame hacked fleet and crushed it handily with a couple different (non-hacked) fleet arrangements. The Lollipop Guild fleet is ridiculous, but like all of the most dangerous fleets it is Yootani (try fighting the Bugzilla fleet, another Yootani base), which just proves, I think, how overpowered and unbalanced the speed of the Yootani strike craft engines.
